Cleveland Lawyers for
Life is an Ohio not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization
promoting the dignity of human life from conception
until natural death. Founded by Cleveland lawyers in the
1970s and incorporated in 1992, Lawyers for Life
promotes the understanding that each human life is
valuable and worthy of respect, nurturing and
protection.
Lawyers for Life
encourages legislators, lawyers, professionals and the
general public to defend and protect human life at all
stages. We carry out our mission three ways. First,
through education: we present pro-life speakers at our
quarterly meetings and discuss current legislative
issues affecting life. Second, through publication: we
contact entities that do not appear to respect life and
encourage them to recognize the intrinsic value of life
and its need for legal protection, as we believe
courteous correspondence can move mountains. Third, by
service: Lawyers for Life responds to inquiries on life
topics from numerous organizations, donates to life
organizations, donates to lawyers litigating on behalf
of life, and participates in Hands of Hope, a network of
northeast Ohio organizations that promotes a culture of
life in our community.
In the past, Cleveland
Lawyers for Life has provided speakers on such topics as
Living Wills and Euthanasia, Embryonic v. Adult Stem
Cell Research, the Status of Abortion Law in Ohio,
Ohio’s Death Statute and Organ Donation and Abortion Law
and the New Supreme Court.
